Cultural Lunch Fridays Join us on Fridays as we explore the
food and cultural experiences of some of Lexington's more exotic eateries! Our weekly outings not only give us a chance to learn more about the community we serve,
but it also provides a chance for current volunteers to bond and receive support as well as for potential volunteers to learn
more about what CASA is all about. All are welcome and we hope that you will join us to learn
more about CASA and to explore the cultural and culinary diversity that Lexington has to offer!

CASA Awareness Day -
Walmart Day of Giving
Thanks to all those who attended the CASA
Day Proclamation in Frankfort on August 5th and to all those who volunteered their time at Walmarts in Lexington on August
6th in order raise money and awareness for CASA. We truly appreciate your dedication and hardwork!
Charity Challenge Blood Drive
During the month of May CASA competed against other local charities in order to
recruit the most blood donors. CASA recieved second place for the Lexington region and will be awarded $1500. We thank all
those who helped spread the word and donated their time to help us win.
Coins for CASA Kids School Fundraiser This spring marked the fifth year that CASA has paired with Fayette County schools to raise
awareness of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. This year we managed to raise over $3,000 with the help
of Fayette County schools and their generous students. We thank everyone for their hard work and hope that next year
is an even bigger success!
2009 Light of Hope Candlelight
Vigil
Even a little rain could not
stop the nearly 150 people who attended this year's vigil. Beautiful performances by members of the Lexington Singers Children's Choir and the SCAPA orchestra
perfectly accompanied the moving speech given by Margie Cherry, a social worker and former child-in-care. Eight new CASA volunteers
were sworn in at the event and all were given time to reflect on those children who have been abused and neglected and to renew
our plight to help prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future.
